Plinacro at the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum

The 8th Three Seas Initiative Summit, organised by the Romanian Government, was held on 6th and 7th September, in Bucharest and it was attended by the Croatian delegation led by the Croatian Prime Minister, Mr Andrej Plenković.

After presidential panel, a joint press conference was held. The Croatian Prime Minister participated in the conference along with the presidents of Romania, Poland, and Lithuania. At the conference the Prime Minister pointed out that Croatia will continue to support energy and transport projects in the region. ”After investing in the LNG terminal on the island of Krk, Croatia is now investing a lot in gas pipelines as well as transport routes, especially in Vc corridor that will be completed during the next year”, Prime Minister Plenković concluded.
A Business Forum was held within the Summit, at which the Croatian Chamber of Economy led the economic delegation of nine Croatian companies among which were the president of Plinacro Board, Ivica Arar and his assistant Vedran Špehar as well as the director of LNG Croatia, Ivan Fugaš.

The main message of this Three Seas Initiative Business Forum is that the key issues of the strong economic growth for the entire area of the central Europe is the construction and enhancement of the existing interconnection and infrastructure connections. This is an opportunity for Croatia to strengthen its economy and reduce the differences in development among the European Union Member States.
The Three Seas Initiative is an informal initiative that brings together 12 member states of the European Union located among the Adriatic Sea, Baltic Sea and Black Sea: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The 3SI Summit gathers high-ranking representatives of the Initiative member states and other EU member states, European Commission, United States of America and other interested countries.

The key focus of the Initiative is to boost the economic growth and resilience of the region through the main areas of the activity: energy (decarbonisation and renewable energy sources, nuclear energy and hydrogen) traffic (rail and road traffic) and digitalisation (cyber security in a cloud, strategic approach to safe, sustainable and accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence).
