Works on the Zlobin - Bosiljevo gas pipeline ceremonially opened

Today in Bosiljevo at a formal ceremony Prime Minister, Mr Andrej Plenković opened the works on the large infrastructure project - the construction of the Zlobin - Bosiljevo gas pipeline.

Along with the Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, the ceremony was attended by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davor Filipović, Prefect of Karlovac County Martina Furdek-Hajdin, Head of Bosiljevo Municipality Josip Kasun and representatives of contractors and business partners.

This is an extremely complex project on the gas transmission system in which around EUR 155 million will be invested. The construction of this project will provide the increase in gas transmission from the existing LNG terminal up to its current technical capacity which is around 3.5 billion m3/y. The construction of the 58 km long Zlobin - Bosiljevo gas pipeline, the financing of which has been provided by the Croatian Government, creates main preconditions for enhancing the security of gas supply for the consumers in the Republic of Croatia as well as for further development of the gas pipeline system and increase in gas transmission towards Hungary and the Republic of Slovenia. The contractor will be a Croatian consortium, that is, a group of tenderers whose leading member is the company Monter - Strojarske montaže from Zagreb, and the works are expected to be completed in 2025.
Capacity increase of the LNG terminal on the island of Krk and the construction of the Zlobin - Bosiljevo gas pipeline will further diversify the routes and sources of natural gas supply on the Croatian market and create the main prerequisites for additional supply to the European Union.

On this occasion, Mr Ivica Arar, President of the Board of Plinacro gave a special thanks to Plinacro's employees who despite extremely short deadlines managed to meet all the preconditions necessary for the commencement of the construction of this project. He also thanked to the Government of the Republic of Croatia as well as the competent Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development for the support they provided during the implementation of these projects.
