6.5.1 Connecting pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin (HR)

In phase I of the project the construction of the connecting gas pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin has been planned. This gas pipeline connects the planned LNG terminal on the island of Krk with the existing gas transmission system of Plinacro, that is, the gas pipeline Pula-Karlovac DN500/75 bar at Zlobin. In this way, the transmission of gas from the LNG terminal in the direction of Hungary is provided by the existing 75-bar transmission system and the existing Croatian-Hungarian interconnection in the direction of Hungary and beyond.

Implementation of the PCI project 6.5.1 together with the implementation of the project Compressor station 1 at the Croatian gas transmission system enable maximum LNG terminal capacity in the amount of up to 2.63 bcm/y and a maximum hourly capacity of 300,000 m3/h.

Nominal diameter of the PCI 6.5.1 connecting pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin is 800 mm, for the maximum operating pressure of 100 bar and its length is 18 km. The Omišalj-Zlobin gas pipeline is in the phase of construction including the gas nodes Omišalj and Zlobin.

For the project of the construction of the connecting gas pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin Plinacro applied for the grant from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and concluded with INEA a Grant agreement in the total amount of EUR 16.433.500 which equals 50% of the eligible costs stated in CEF application

It was put into operation, together with LNG terminal on the island of Krk, at the beginning of 2021.
