6.5.1 Development of the LNG terminal on Krk (HR) up to 2.6 bcm/a – phase I and the connecting gas pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin (HR)

In the phase I of the project the construction of the connecting gas pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin has been planned. This gas pipeline would connect the planned LNG terminal on the island of Krk with the gas pipeline Pula-Karlovac DN500/75 bar at Zlobin. In this way the transport of gas from the LNG terminal in the direction of Hungary would be provided by the existing 75-bar transmission system.
The implementation of phase I of the project together with the implementation of the project of the compressor station 1 at the Croatian gas transmission system would provide maximum capacity of the LNG terminal up to 2.63 bcm/a

The technical characteristics and the status of the project of the gas pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin:
  • Omišalj-Zlobin - PCI 6.5.1, nominal diameter 1000 mm, maximum operating pressure 100 bar, length 18 km; Environmental Impact Assessment procedure of the project has been carried out and a positive Decision on the environmental acceptability of the project has been obtained, the location permit has been obtained, the Building permit has been obtained for the phase I of the construction (GN Omišalj and GN Zlobin included), the obtaining of the Building permit for the phase II of the construction is in progress (gas pipeline route and the facilities on the route included).
The construction and commissioning of the gas pipeline Omišalj-Zlobin has been planned in 2019 and in compliance with the interest of potential users expressed in the Open Season procedure for capacity booking.
