Calorific values for nominations

NET CALORIFIC VALUES FOR THE NOMINATIONS FOR THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM USE

From 1 January 2012 a metering unit kWh (kWh/h) has been applied on the Croatian natural gas market, in compliance with the provision of article 53 of the Ordinance on the organization of natural gas market (OG 126/10, OG 128/11).

The transmission system operator publishes the amounts of natural gas net calorific values used by the suppliers and balance group leaders in the process of nominations for transmission system use for the purposes of converting natural gas quantities expressed in a metering unit m3/h (m3/day) to a metering unit of energy kWh/h (kWh).
Expressed net calorific values have been obtained by chromatographic analyses of natural gas carried out in an authorised laboratory of the Republic of Croatia.
The conversion of the amount of a net calorific value expressed in a metering unit MJ/m3 to a metering unit kWh/m3, at the referent conditions of 15°C/15°C, has been carried out by dividing by 3,6 (kWh/m3), and a value calculated this way has been rounded to six decimals.

The following data are used for nominations of the transmission system use at the interconnection with the upstream transmission system operator:
  1. Hungary - Croatia (FGSZ Ltd.)
  2. Slovenia – Croatia (Plinovodi d.o.o.) – gross calorific value [kWh/m3 at 25°C/0°C] for nominations on the Slovenian transmission system is delivered by the Slovenian TSO; it is used in nominations for the period from the next Monday to Sunday.
Conversion factor 0.901 is used for nominations on the Croatian transmission system.
