Mr Jernej Vrtovec, Minister of Infrastructure in the Republic of Slovenia and Mr Tomislav Ćorić, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development made a visit to the LNG Terminal

 
Today, on 4 April 2022, Mr Jernej Vrtovec, Minister of Infrastructure in the Republic of Slovenia made a visit to the LNG Terminal on the island of Krk. There, Minister Vrtovec was welcomed by Mr Tomislav Ćorić, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; Mr Ivo Milatić, State Secretary; Mr Hrvoje Krhen, Director of LNG Croatia LLC, and Mr Ivica Arar, President of the Board of Plinacro Ltd.
 
Upon their visit to FSRU ship LNG Croatia, in his press statement Minister Ćorić confirmed that the capacities of the LNG Terminal have been increased by 300 million cubic meters of gas per year by technical adjustments of the FSRU ship LNG Croatia and the gas transmission system of Plinacro, and that an international tendering procedure for the relevant capacity booking will be announced soon.
 
Minister Vrtovec expressed his interest in additional capacities to provide diversification of gas supply in Slovenia, which is at the moment almost entirely dependent on the import of Russian gas. Additional quantities of gas from Krk would cover one third of the annual Slovenian gas demand.
 
Mr Ivica Arar, President of the Board of Plinacro Ltd. and Mr Hrvoje Krhen, Director of LNG Croatia LLC thanked the Ministers for coming and expressed their satisfaction with the fact that through the implementation of the project of LNG Terminal and the Zlobin – Omišalj connecting gas pipeline Croatia gained a new diversified supply route which strengthened the energy stability of the Republic of Croatia, central and southeastern Europe.
